The Borough Council adopted an amendment to the tax agreement with the South Jersey Port Corporation (R.26.60) and approved a local cash-payment policy (R.26.51) on Feb. 10, 2026.
Solicitor Maley described R.26.51 as aligning local payment handling with federal guidance: the resolution addresses “dealing with dollars and not pennies to align with the new federal law of eliminating pennies,” the solicitor said. Council members unanimously adopted both resolutions.
The tax-agreement amendment (Amendment No. 2, R.26.60) was approved with no comment; the council took no additional action beyond adoption. Officials said the tax-agreement amendment will carry the Borough through the 2026 tax year under updated terms with the Port authority.
