City administrator reports Kingsbury Creek permit delay; North 40 work expected this fall

City Administrator Rich told the City of Proctor council that staff are revising how notices are issued under the city's blight-enforcement process in an effort to speed enforcement.

"As reported at the pre agenda meeting, city staff and departments are working on an updated light process well within the ordinance, but just, changing some orders of how we give notices out," Administrator Rich said, noting the change is intended to accelerate enforcement. He reported that the Kingsbury Creek project remains viable but is being held up by an outstanding permit. Rich also said the "North 40" project should start late this summer or early fall and that the new public‑works utility garage is being occupied by staff including meter reader Pat Casey.

The city administrator also reminded the council that election judge training and public-accuracy testing are scheduled for the Aug. 11 primary. The update was delivered during the agenda's project-updates item and no formal vote was required.
