Council approves street closures for July 4 parade, RAGBRAI and summer Farmers Market
Summary
Reinbeck approved the regular July 4 parade route and a modified fireworks closure on Park Street, RAGBRAI closures for July 23, and Broad Street summer Farmers Market closures from June through October.
The council approved several event-related street closures for summer 2026. Greg Snider, speaking for the 4th of July Committee, said the parade route would stay the same and that fireworks staging requires a change because of nearby construction; the council approved closing Park Street from Folkert’s driveway to V Avenue for fireworks staging and suggested using county barricades for that closure.
Council also approved a summer Farmers Market closure on Broad Street from Hwy 175 to Main Street set to run June 1 through October, and a RAGBRAI street-closing plan for July 23 that includes West Street (Hwy 175 to Main), Main Street (West to Broad), Broad Street (Main to Hwy 175), and additional closures for adaptive riders on West and Clark streets. All motions passed on voice/roll call votes recorded as 5 ayes.
These approvals permit organizers to finalize logistics for public safety, barricades and signage ahead of the events.
