The committee heard a brief WIC update: a staff member attended the Wisconsin Association of Lactation Consultants Conference and outreach included meetings with Door of Hope for resource sharing. Staff announced that the farmer's market nutrition program has been funded for the year.
Separately, the health department said it will provide blood-pressure checks and cholesterol screening at the Nelson Ag fair next week (dates provided during the meeting). The department asked the committee to note these outreach efforts as part of its community-health activities and confirmed an April 9 meeting date for the Board of Health Committee.
