Daniel Starks, communications manager for the city of Greenville, said the council approved allowing the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) to be included within the proposed Hunt County Emergency Services District Number 2.
Starks noted that the ETJ is an area outside the city limits where the city has some limited planning and development authority and that inclusion in the proposed emergency services district would help support future emergency services coverage in that area. The recap referenced that the council had previously approved inclusion in District Number 1 at a prior meeting.
