Sustainable Environment Commission praises new water plan and energy fair, flags community solar as next step

The commission reported a strong public turnout — McGinn described attendance as "3 to 400" people and noted there were "25 exhibitors" — and he said the city’s cosponsorship contributed to the event’s success. The commission also outlined initial work on a community solar idea: a subcommittee will research feasibility and draft a framework, but McGinn emphasized many technical and utility-dependent questions remain and asked council and staff to "stay tuned."
