District to seek health-care partner for North Campus site, staff says
Summary
Staff told the committee that North Campus has existing utility infrastructure and proposed an RFP to explore whether a health-care provider would build or lease space there; the committee discussed outreach to Jefferson, St. Luke's and Northwell and timing of returning the RFP to the board.

District staff said the North Campus was designed with some infrastructure (wiring and piping) that could support additional buildings and proposed an RFP to solicit interest from health-care providers to build or lease a facility to serve the local community.
Staff named local and regional potential partners to contact, saying they would reach out to providers including Jefferson, St. Luke's and Northwell to gauge interest. "So build and lease 1 or the other, or both property from us, which would thus help our community offer health care and then, honestly, be readily available to our staff up there as well as the families and be a revenue source for us as a school district," the presenter said.
Committee members asked whether the RFP should come back to committee for review or be sent straight to the full board; members agreed to present the RFP to the board if it was ready for inclusion in the August packet, otherwise to bring it back to committee in September.
