Board approves Rosemead SRO cost‑sharing MOU and a district canine inspection contract

Padilla also advocated for the canine visits as both a deterrent and a safety measure: "I want young kids to know… do not bring pills. Do not try to come sell that stuff to our kids." Superintendent Dr. Zuniga and other trustees emphasized complementary prevention and support measures — health classes, wellness centers, counseling and family engagement — and requested post-visit reporting and vendor details on substances and paraphernalia the canines are trained to detect.
