Council roundup: public comments on community events, calendar, Connex trailer request, and April schedule change

During the public comment period resident Lana Muir thanked the council for support of an upcoming Lamb of God performance that she said would involve approximately 150 participants and asked what the city is doing for the 250th celebration. Councilwoman A. Goodrich offered to have Muir attend an APR meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Resident Matt Luce asked that the meeting calendar on the bottom of the Roosevelt City webpage be updated to include all public meetings; staff responded that meetings are posted in several locations and said the issue would be addressed. In committee reports Councilwoman A. Goodrich requested the purchase of a Connex trailer to store displays near the nature park at an estimated cost of approximately $5,000; Finance Director Z. Atwood will review the council discretionary budget for availability.
City Manager Joshua Bake reported on the need to replace the public defender position, progress preparing the FY27 budget, and efforts to find a Golf Pro. The council confirmed cancellation of the second April meeting because of travel for the ULCT Mid‑Year Conference and will resume the regular work session schedule on May 5, 2026.
