The presentation also noted a negotiated 5% salary increase (retroactive to July 1) and several staffing adjustments that together add about 2.57 FTE compared with the adopted budget.
Trustees pressed for additional breakdowns on the contractors and consultant line, which accounts for a large portion of the expenditure increases. Staff indicated they will provide a full breakdown of consultant and contract costs at a subsequent meeting.
The interim projection shows a projected deficit in 2026–27 of roughly $381,000 absent further changes; staff recommended certifying the interim report while continuing to monitor revenues and expenditures.
Following discussion, a trustee moved to approve the first interim budget report; the motion was seconded and the board recorded affirmative votes to approve the certification.
"Our motion that we, approve the 1st interim budget report," a trustee stated when moving the item; trustees then voted to adopt the report.
