Board approves districtwide salary adjustments for support and instructional roles

The GEORGE JUNIOR REPUBLIC UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education voted to approve wage and salary adjustments recommended by the superintendent and reviewed by the audit committee.
Chair (S2) presented the resolution describing the positions covered — teacher aide, job coach, school secretaries, principal, administrative assistant, curriculum coordinator, information technology specialist, assistant behavioral specialist, teacher aide lead support, behavioral instruction specialist and director of human resources — and said the increases followed the audit committee's May 12 review. "Therefore, it be resolved that the Board of Education ... hereby approves the wage and salary compensation as recommended by the superintendent," the motion reads. A board member moved, another seconded, and the board voted "Aye."
Board members said the adjustments reflected the district's recent financial improvements. The vote was taken by voice; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript. The action was presented as part of the board's consent to implement compensation recommendations at the next fiscal cycle.
