Principals updated trustees on school-level activities and fundraising at the Oct. 8 meeting. John B. Riebli reported strong parent turnout at a 'Lunch on the Lawn' (over 200 attendees) and an outdoor movie night that drew more than 250 people; the school’s Walk-a-Thon is scheduled for Oct. 18. Mark West Elementary highlighted student council activity, recognition of custodial staff, and recent GLAD teacher training.
San Miguel Principal Patrick Eagle told the board his site has raised $38,000 toward a $50,000 Walk-a-Thon goal. Mark West Charter reported a 7th-grade volleyball championship, a $560 profit from family movie night, and hiring of a Mark West alum as RSP paraeducator and campus supervisor. Trustee Priscilla Jaworski-Quintanilla, reflecting on the Bike Rodeo, said, "It was toasty but what a great program!"
