The Mark West Union School District Board of Trustees approved the district's Unaudited Actuals for the 2023-2024 school year during its Sept. 10 meeting.
Chief Business Official Renee Loeza presented the narrative accompanying the Unaudited Actuals, after which Trustee Sara Azat moved and Trustee Brian Burke seconded the motion to approve Parts I and II. The motion passed with Aye=4, Nay=0, Abstention=0, Absent=1.
Separately, the board adopted Resolution #25-01 establishing the GANN limit and Resolution #25-02 to establish committed fund balances. Trustee Brian Burke moved the GANN resolution; Trustee Smith seconded. The roll call for those votes recorded Trustees Smith, Burke, Azat and President Priscilla Jaworski-Quintanilla voting Aye; Trustee Victor McKnight was absent.
Trustees also approved the district's Annual Signatory Authorizations on a motion by Trustee Azat and second by Trustee Burke. All fiscal motions at the meeting passed by the same 4-0 margin among members present.
The board's actions set the district's formal fiscal constraints and internal fund commitments for the coming year. No public comment was recorded on these items at the meeting.
