Sewell said Phase 1 will construct the initial berth and landside infrastructure, with later phases planned to develop a three-berth terminal with full rail connectivity.
Sewell said the project received $24,000,000 in BUILD funds. Committee members heard the project could support future freight and economic development opportunities at the site; KYTC framed the award as one of three competitive BUILD grants bringing roughly $73,000,000 to Kentucky projects this cycle.
