Meatpacking BID staff told CB2 they will stage an evening concert as part of the plaza's Music on the Cobbles series, scheduled Sept. 15 from 8–10 p.m. The event will close Gansevoort Street to vehicles for the performance, place low risers in the plaza for audience seating, use the BID's power box and deploy public ambassadors and sanitation crews.
"This will be from 8 to 10PM. That'll be free and open to the public," a BID representative said. Organizers said load-in was currently planned for early morning but that they were willing to start later to reduce noise; they will secure an NYPD sound permit and coordinate audio checks to limit off-site sound.
