At public hearings the council considered multiple demolition and condemnation orders. Staff reported 48 housing-code violations for 906.5 18th Street and said the owner had begun exterior repairs; the council voted to table demolition for 90 days to allow the owner time to complete work and remove tenants.
For 1219 19th Alley staff reported the property is now zoned commercial and has been vacated more than six months, losing its residential grandfathering, which prevented reconstruction as a residence; the owner, Clement Graham, indicated his family would allow demolition. Council ordered demolition. For 1225 19th Alley staff said repairs exceed 50% of estimated value and would be nonconforming; the owner, Etta Nolan Dea, requested more time citing personal hardship and grief. Council voted to table that item for one week to permit further conversation and possible assistance.
