Reinbeck council advances water and garbage-rate ordinances, third reading set for July 6

Councilmember Johnson moved that both ordinances receive second consideration and that the second reading be adopted; the measure passed on a roll-call vote with Wambold, Pease, Johnson, Trepp and Bueghly voting aye. Councilmember Bueghly then moved to set the third reading for July 6, 2026; that motion carried 5–0.
The council packet includes the ordinance numbers and references the municipal code sections to be repealed and replaced, but the minutes do not record the exact new rates in full text. The ordinances will return to the council for a final (third) reading on July 6, when the public and council may debate the proposed rate amounts before any final vote.
