Volunteer group outlines Halloween weekend events to bring Onancock together

Dana (Speaker 12) presented a community-driven Halloween weekend for Oct. 25–26 designed to draw residents and visitors together with family- and youth-friendly programming, a 1,200-person bike tour, evening events and a parade starting at 5 p.m. The presenter described a program of activities including Rocky Horror Picture Show screenings at the Roseland Theatre, a pumpkin-carving event, a Halloween parade through town and a witchy paddle on Sunday.
Dana said organizers have posted a sign-up on onancock.org (OBCA’s main page) and that publicity volunteer Jenny Gilman helped spread the word; after an initial social post Dana said the poster received 65 shares. “I think this will be a great way” for new residents and longtime locals to connect, Dana said. Organizers asked council to help spread the word and noted volunteers had already printed 50 posters and planned more distribution.
Council thanked the presenter and attendees for the volunteer-driven effort and noted the events will require coordination with town staff and attention to traffic and safety on the day of the bike tour.
