The technology committee reviewed the RFP results for cabling and recommended work at a small school (Elements) to pave the way for audio enhancement and access control systems. The committee said five bids were received and that Omni IT Solutions, a local vendor, was the winning bidder.
"We had 5 bids, and it is Omni IT Solutions, which are a local vendor," the technology lead said. The project was described as E-Rate eligible; the presenter said this category of funding provides multi-year allotments and that for this specific scope the funding will cover the cost without school-level outlay. The presenter estimated the project cost for the campus at about $60,000.
Committee members asked whether the district would need to front funds and then seek reimbursement; staff said the project will be processed directly through E-Rate in this case, not requiring local advance financing. The committee approved moving the recommendation forward to the board for placement on the consent agenda.
