An architect representing the project and facilities staff told the committee the Hornville High AAA Alumni Center is ready to be accepted as substantially complete after final inspection and fire marshal sign-off.
"AAA alumni center is ready to be accepted as substantially complete," the facilities presenter said, noting the elevator and other systems are working and that only minor punch-list items and owner-side finishes remain. Staff said they will hold retainage until those items are finished and that they plan a groundbreaking/ribbon-cutting ceremony in the near future.
Committee members asked about tours before the board meeting and staff agreed to coordinate site visits. The presenter confirmed the contractor can begin the 45-day lien period once the district accepts substantial completion and said the district will continue addressing owner responsibilities such as furnishings and signage.
