Vendors press district over communications contract change at public comment

During the public-comment portion, Diane Chiang described additional communications work performed since July and said project volume increased beyond the district's approved scope. She read a list of completed tasks and said costs have risen even though the vendor did not increase prices for current work.
Teresa Wilson, who identified herself as co-owner of Lighthouse Blue, said her firm had worked with the district for 12 years and offered two options to resolve outstanding compensation: pay for work already completed or accept a reduced scope for future work. Wilson said, "Nuestra relación siempre se ha basado en la confianza... Nos importa, y para nuestra reputación, que ustedes entiendan eso." She asked the board to consider the history of collaboration when reviewing the contract change.
Board members acknowledged the comments and removed one consent-agenda item for additional discussion before approving the remainder of the consent agenda by voice vote.
