Facilities staff described a project behind Hornville High's stadium to improve drainage, create paid and accessible parking and provide safer pedestrian access to the baseball and softball fields.
"This aims to do, do a drainage project to get that side of things in order so we can do a paid parking, handicap access, proper access to our baseball and softball fields, but also allowing additional, overflow parking for the stadium as well," the facilities presenter said. Drawings are ready and staff asked for permission to go out to bid with a hoped-for return to the board in February.
Committee members raised safety and design questions (including sidewalk netting near the left-field line), and staff said they would consider pedestrian protections as part of final design. The committee requested updates and a bid package to return to the board for consideration.
