Risk management staff told the committee they reviewed four pharmacy-analytics firms and recommended PayerAlly as the vendor to provide analytics, contract compliance validation and implementation support for Saint Charles Parish Public Schools.
"Based on the evaluation results and goals set forth by the risk management and benefits department, the risk management and benefits committee recommends PayerAlly as the pharmacy analytics firm for Saint Charles Parish Public Schools," a risk management presenter said. The presenter explained the selection used a score sheet available in BoardDocs and said USI performed an initial vetting of candidate firms before the committee review.
Will McHugh, president and founder of PayorAlly, introduced himself and described the firm's approach: "My name is Will McHugh. I am the president and founder of PayorAlly," he said. McHugh said the firm assigns a PharmD to each account and conducts quarterly reviews with clients, offering proactive guidance on new high-cost drugs and contract performance.
Committee members asked how frequently PayerAlly would meet with district staff and whether committee findings would reach the full board; staff said the firm would meet quarterly (virtual by default, with in-person visits as needed) and that committee findings would be shared with the board at its next committee meeting. Staff also noted the incumbent analytics firm (Truveris) is under contract until April 30, 2026, and that the district modeled its anticipated cost for PayerAlly at about $56,000 (the current contract figure cited was $70,000), while warning that the fee is claim-volume dependent and could fluctuate.
The committee did not take a final board-level vote in the committee meeting recorded in this transcript; staff said the recommendation will go to the full board for action. The committee also described coordination plans between PayerAlly and the broker USI so reports and any provider recommendations would be integrated into the district's procurement and oversight processes.
