Chairperson Ashley Britt reported an update on park maintenance at the Feb. 24 meeting: pumps at Hatchery Park were identified as needing repair or replacement. Committee members requested follow-up on a Scout's bench project at Hatchery Park; Britt said the Scout had not returned email requests for a project update.
Members listed several parks that need court work. Orchard Bluff Estates, Breezy Lawn and Springdale parks were cited as needing basketball courts sealed, and Springdale additionally needs striping. Public Works Supervisor Mike Frer said the basketball hoops at Horse Fair Park should be updated and recommended new hoops at Orchard Bluff Estates. Committee members discussed the pros and cons of adding additional pickleball courts versus basketball courts, but took no formal vote.
