Atoka Area Chamber director previews fall events, stresses membership funding model

Miss Hillock, executive director of the Atoka Area Chamber of Commerce, told the council about upcoming events and programming and asked council members and city employees to participate.
She described an upcoming luncheon on Aug. 6, a leadership-development program launching in the fall and a local government day scheduled for Nov. 12. "We are 100% funded through our members and our community investors. There is no tax dollars that come to the Chamber of Commerce," Hillock said, answering a question about Chamber funding. She invited council members to speak to the leadership class and offered to return with a quarterly update.
Council thanked the director for the information and noted participation plans for community events.
