The Village of Spring Grove Village Board on Jan. 6 approved a consent-agenda ordinance amending Chapter 2 of the village code to include military service as an acceptable reason for remote attendance. Trustees approved the full consent agenda by a 6-0 roll-call vote.
Trustee Jeff Letzter moved to accept the consent agenda, and Trustee Rob Heaney seconded. "Trustee Letzter moved, seconded by Trustee Heaney to accept: the consent agenda as presented," the minutes record. The motion carried with ayes from Trustees Britt, Fitzgerald, Gajewski, Heaney, Letzter and Loring and no nays.
The consent agenda listed four items: approval of the Dec. 16, 2025 Village Board regular meeting minutes; the ordinance to add military service as a permissible reason for remote attendance; a resolution regarding the release of closed-session meeting minutes; and approval of invoice INV25MRA0077 to Gasvoda for two samplers for the wastewater treatment plant. The ordinance was approved as part of the consent vote and no separate debate or recorded amendment appears in the minutes.
The board did not record a timeline for implementation or effective date of the ordinance in the minutes. Any procedural or ordinance text changes will follow the village clerk's recordkeeping and publication processes.
