Committee forwards no-parking ordinance for Kaiminani Drive after DPW installs signs

"This is a community request that the department did take action on," Inaba said, noting the department had installed no-parking signs on a steep curve to maintain driveway sight lines. DPW staff described the location as a steep road with a bend and driveways close to the travel lane.
The clerk recorded that Bill 193, which amends Chapter 24 (no parking at any time) to prohibit parking along specified points on Kaiminani Drive in North Kona, was forwarded to council with a favorable recommendation; the committee recorded eight ayes and one member absent.
The measure formalizes signs already placed in the field to address a known sight-line hazard; no additional public testimony was received during the committee hearing.
