Guy Miller provided the Health Department update to the Personnel and Human Services Committee on May 14. He reported workforce activity including vacancies, new hires and retirements; two building projects identified as 'Achieve It' and 'South County Renovation'; and program metrics for Rx Kids in Benton Harbor, Buchanan, Niles and Benton Charter Township, which the minutes record as enrolling 166 families, 99 babies born and $368,500 distributed to families.
Miller also reviewed current social campaigns and community outreach efforts, noting participation in Michigan Works! job fairs, ongoing engagement through WIC programming and maternal health outreach, and the department’s continued promotion and expansion of the Benton Harbor Farmers Market.
