Commission clears slate of summer events including Anaconda Pride and Community Market
Summary
The commission approved a set of summer community events — Anaconda Pride (June 27), Community Market (Thursdays July 2–Sept 3), Art in the Park (July 17–19) and the Smelter City Scamper Race (Aug 7–8) — with some approvals contingent on certificates of insurance.

Anaconda-Deer Lodge County commissioners on May 5 approved multiple summer events, including Anaconda Pride on June 27 at Kennedy Commons (or Main Street if Commons not ready), the Anaconda Community Market on Thursday evenings July 2 through Sept. 3 on the 100 block of Main Street, Art in the Park July 17–19 at Washoe Park (pending certificate of insurance) and the Smelter City Scamper Race Aug. 7–8 (pending certificate of insurance).
Chair Kevin Hart said the Pride event "has all the necessary signatures and the required Certificate of Insurance" and noted organizers would use Main Street if Kennedy Commons was not available. Hart called the Community Market "always a great summer event" and commissioners approved each item, with the market and two events approved pending final insurance documentation.
County Attorney Morgan Smith said she had been coordinating with the Copper Village Museum and insurer on the Art in the Park document requirements and that approving the event pending the certificate of insurance was appropriate at this time.
