Staff alleged that Engage Voters US failed to timely provide commercial advertiser books of account to a requester in 2024 after receiving funds from multiple candidates for political advertising. Complainant Connor Edwards joined the hearing and told the commission he had not been able to review the organization's books despite making requests.
Chair Jay Leach found the violation as alleged and imposed a $500 penalty, suspending $250 provided that Edwards receive the requested records within 30 days and that the unsuspended portion be paid within that same period; Leach also conditioned the suspension on no future violations for four years.
