PDC continues Silas James request after chair says PO box won't satisfy inspection requirement

Silas James, a candidate for Seattle City Council position 5, requested use of a nonresidential alternative address so contributions or expenditures he makes to his own campaign would not disclose his residential street address. Staff told the commission that a PO box listed on the candidate's C1 cannot automatically be approved because it is the campaign's mailing address rather than a physical location where records can be inspected.
Chair Jay Leach told James, "A PO box won't work," and urged him to secure permission from his treasurer for a street address or identify a different physical location where records could be inspected. Leach continued the matter to the next regular calendar and asked staff to notify James of the date.
