The Peru Board of Public Works voted to change the municipal travel policy to use the General Services Administration per‑diem rate for meals instead of a flat $35 full‑day allowance. The board noted the GSA rate varies by destination and employees should confirm the applicable rate before traveling.
During discussion a board member said the federal GSA rates are published and searchable by location; another suggested budgeting roughly $80 per day as a planning figure. "We approve the change in travel policy adjusting meal allowance from $35 for a full day, 3 meals, to the General Service Administration rate," the chair said when moving the motion, which passed unanimously.
