The Spring Grove Village Board on Jan. 20 approved consent agenda items A through H, authorizing a series of fee waivers and temporary park-hour extensions for summer community events.
Trustee Jeff Letzter moved, seconded by Trustee Jiil Loring, to approve the items related to the Spring Grove 4 of July Committee and the Spring Grove Firefighters Association. The approvals include waivers of liquor-license and fireworks-permit fees for the 4 of July Committee on July 3–4, 2026; an extension of Horse Fair Park hours on July 3–4 from 10:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.; a variance for event sign size and time limits; food-truck permit fee waivers for the July 4 celebration; and a liquor-license waiver and one-hour extension (to 11:00 p.m.) for the Firefighters Association Steak Fry on August 15, 2026. The motion carried on a roll-call vote recorded as five ayes and no nays.
Earlier in the meeting Trustee Katie Fitzgerald moved, seconded by Trustee RoLl Heaney, to accept the consent agenda with item I (the January 2026 bills payable) struck because bills payable were not provided at that time. That procedural motion carried before the board voted to approve items A–H.
The board did not discuss the substance of the events during the vote; minutes indicate the waivers and time extensions were routine consent items intended to support annual community celebrations.
