Delegates raised repeated complaints that campaign signs placed near polling places were sometimes so large they obstructed safe entry and exit. "There were signs placed...they were so large that it became obstructive to enter and exit safely from the precinct stations," Delegate Tavares said.
Wendy Honesty Bey said the board receives complaints about campaign materials and that the campaign finance guide defines the 100‑foot electioneering zone; she said local boards are told they cannot remove signs on their own and that a legislative fix would be needed to create enforcement or fines. Several delegates urged the board and the delegation to pursue statutory change so local staff can act more decisively on obstructive signage.
