Salem High culinary program earns national accreditation, district leaders celebrate

Superintendent Monica Merrick announced that the Plymouth-Canton PCEP culinary arts program at Salem High School received accreditation from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation. Merrick said the program is the second high-school culinary program in Michigan to receive the recognition and the first comprehensive public high school in the state to do so.
Merrick credited Chef Diana Woodward and PCEP students for the achievement and noted the accreditation places the program among fewer than 50 comprehensive high-school culinary programs and fewer than 150 institutions overall with that status. The board applauded the program and asked administration to share details publicly as part of district communications.
