Board recognizes retirements and welcomes dozens of new staff

The board publicly recognized three long-serving retirees and the human-resources team read a multi-page list of recommended new hires across the district. HR highlighted retirees Karen Anthony (English teacher at Canton, with the district since 1996), Gina Forsyth (English teacher at Plymouth, since 2005), and Marsha Watkins (marketing teacher at Canton, since 2017) and asked the room to applaud their service.
Chief human resources officer Abdul Madion read names of numerous recommended new hires — classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff — and named several recommended administrative appointments, including a supervisor of special education, an assistant principal at Plymouth High School, an educational-technology manager and a technical coordinator. The board welcomed the new staff and thanked retirees for their service.
