Council finds no unmet transit needs after no public comment

Staff explained the annual unmet transit needs review and said the city clerk posted the public hearing notice for 30 days; no public comments or concerns were received during that period. Staff recommended the council find there are no unmet transit needs reasonably able to be met in the city.
"Therefore, staff recommends the city council conduct a public hearing to receive input regarding unmet transit needs and direct staff to forward all public comments to Kern COG," the staff presentation said.
The council opened the public hearing, heard no testimony, and unanimously adopted resolution 2026-9 to record a finding of no unmet transit needs that are reasonably able to be met. The staff report said all hearing input would be submitted to Kern COG for inclusion in the countywide report.
