The Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors voted to adopt the township's Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 after staff presented a revised draft and summarized public input from two special meetings. The manager recommended adoption "as written," and the board approved the resolution following questions about the status of a potential fire station project.
Several supervisors asked whether a plan for a new fire station existed. The manager told the board the assistant township manager and he were "exploring options" and speaking with organizations experienced in fire-company facility planning, and that they expected to return to the board with options in the near future. The chair also noted the township is in the process of hiring a new fire director; the manager said the current fire director, Mr. Kaufman, is moving on and new leadership may bring additional ideas.
Supervisor comments acknowledged the CIP's role in feeding the annual budget and noted the importance of public participation during the summer review process. The board took a roll-call vote and the resolution to adopt the CIP passed.
