Somonauk board approves wide-ranging policy updates after committee finds no major changes

The Somonauk CUSD 432 board reviewed and approved a package of board policies covering meeting procedures, access to district public records, grievance and Title IX processes, student wellness and other areas. Superintendent Jay Streicher summarized the committee's review and reported that the committee found "no major changes that needed further review." The board then approved the policies as presented by unanimous vote.
Policies reviewed include, among others, 2:200 (Types of School Board Meetings), 2:220 (School Board Meeting Procedure), 2:250 (Access to District Public Records), 2:265 (Title IX Grievance Procedure), 6:50 (School Wellness), 7:100 (Health, Eye, and Dental Examinations; Immunizations; and Exclusion of Students) and 7:300 (Extracurricular Athletics). Board minutes list the policy numbers and record the unanimous vote approving them.
