After a recent storm during which the winter roads contractor was reportedly not observed plowing, the Town of Roxbury Board of Selectmen voted on Dec. 16 to put the snow‑plow contract for seasons 2027–2030 out to bid. Selectman Timothy Derouche made the motion to advertise the contract; Selectman Matthew Patneaude seconded it and the board recorded a 2‑0 vote in favor.
The decision followed a review of the current contract and the board’s concern that contractor responsiveness during storms needed to be addressed in future contracting. The board directed staff to prepare the bid documents and proceed with public solicitation of proposals.
