Eric Hoiland, the county chief financial officer, presented Resolution 26-14 to establish salaries for fiscal year 2026–27 and said the proposal applies a 4% increase countywide to align with union contracts. "This is the resolution to start the process of adjusting employee salaries; salaries will increase by four percent to keep in line with the Union contracts," Hoiland said.
Commissioner and public questions centered on position titles and staffing. Resident Rose Nyman pointed out that the Planning Department listing combined "Planning Director/Public Works Coordinator," asking whether that reflected a single job or two separate positions. CEO Bill Everett clarified that Carl Hamming serves as Planning Director, that the Public Works Coordinator is a separate description not currently filled, and that Planner II is a full-time position. The resolution was placed on the agenda for further action at a business meeting.
