McFarland accepts completed West Kern Avenue rehabilitation project

The McFarland City Council voted Dec. 3 to accept the completed West Kern Avenue Rehabilitation project (3rd to 5th Street) and to authorize the city clerk to file a notice of completion. Staff reported the work included paving, striping, curb and gutter repair and ADA ramp upgrades and that inspection deemed the work acceptable.
"We've inspected the work. We found the work to be acceptable and and we're recommending, for city council to accept the completion of this project and also release the 5% contingency to Bowman Asphalt," staff said. Councilors congratulated staff and partners, noted the project complements work at a nearby school and moved to approve the acceptance and release of the contingency; the motion passed unanimously by roll call.
