Astoria staff schedule work sessions on camping ordinance, housing proposals and Pacific Power franchise

City staff gave council a schedule of upcoming meetings and agenda items at the Dec. 1 session. Director Dart McLean said the council will hold a work session Dec. 8 to continue brainstorming enforcement and service solutions related to the city’s camping ordinance and the service providers who participated in the prior session.
McLean also said Dec. 15 will include council direction on respondents to a request for expressions of interest (RFEI) about housing projects at the Dairy Gold and Customs House sites and discussion of a Pacific Power franchise extension and community organization grant program direction. On Dec. 22 staff will convene a work session on a tribal collaboration and communication policy and a parking plan. Staff also listed community events: volunteer appreciation on Dec. 10 and a fire-department holiday food parade on Dec. 9–11 starting at 6 p.m. each night.
