Ralston House seeks municipal support for new forensic-interview facility and training space

Ralston House Executive Director Tricia Riffle described a capital campaign to renovate an Arvada facility and asked municipalities to help fund the project during the Aug. 3 study session. The new site would include four confidential interview pods, a medical exam pod and a 100‑person training room for multidisciplinary teams.

"This one‑time ask is for renovations of that site," Riffle said, explaining the center provides forensic interviews, post‑72‑hour medical exams and victim advocacy for children and families. Ralston House said the renovated facility would improve trauma‑informed care, reduce parceling of training across venues and better accommodate staff and visiting professionals. The organization cited past success running municipal capital campaigns in other jurisdictions and noted gifts from foundations and corporate partners are already committed.

Councilors thanked Riffle for the presentation and asked staff follow‑up questions; no formal funding decision was taken at the study session.
