Amy Vale, a candidate for the Battle Ground city council in the 2025 election, was granted an exemption from including her residential address on her personal financial affairs statement after she testified about a prior violent assault and ongoing safety concerns.
During the adjudicative hearing, Vale told commissioners she was a survivor of an assault in 2007 by a serial offender and said she had been contacted about a subsequent reoffending roughly a year earlier. Vale also described her work as an advocate and lead ambassador for Operation Underground Railroad (now R Rescue), which she said involves dangerous contact with criminal gangs. Vale testified: "The ****** assault I experienced was in 2007, and it was by a serial ****** who is still currently offending."
Chair Leach said the recent-contact evidence and the nature of the threat supported granting Vale's request and announced "I'm gonna grant your request." Staff informed Vale of the administrative steps and said they will prepare the order to effect the redaction and follow up with her.
