Board authorizes start of 2024 tax-levy process; approves snow-day e-learning procedures

Dane Richards moved to authorize the superintendent to start the tax-levy process and the motion passed 6-0. Elliott advised that, "As per past practice, the Board will hold a Truth in Taxation Hearing, regardless of exceeding the 5% increase prior to approving the final levy," and noted that another large increase in equalized assessed value might make a levy increase likely.
The board also approved the 2024-25 Snow Day/Emergency Day procedures; the minutes record, "SC100 has an approved e-Learning Plan that will allow them to use up to 5 emergency days without make ups." Mr. West moved and Mr. Richards seconded; the motion passed 6-0.
Both actions were procedural approvals: the tax-levy authorization begins the administrative process and the snow-day procedures formalize how emergency days will be handled this school year.
