Stark County Board adopts IASA Vision 2030 resolution urging state education reforms

The Stark County CUSD 100 Board of Education unanimously adopted the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) Vision 2030 resolution at its Jan. 21 meeting.
President Ann Orwig read the resolution, which endorses three pillars: Future-Focused Learning (including college and career exploration and educator pipeline development), Shared Accountability (including assessment and mandate reform), and Predictable Funding (protecting the evidence-based funding formula and capital funding). Bruce West moved to adopt the resolution; Brian Rewerts seconded and the motion passed 7-0.
The resolution also calls on the Illinois General Assembly to enact the legislative changes necessary to implement the Vision 2030 recommendations. The board's adoption aligns the district with state education associations listed in the resolution.
