The board approved several administrative authorizations and professional service arrangements at its Jan. 9 meeting.
Members voted to authorize the superintendent to make purchases within adopted appropriations and approved a service fund to cover board-incurred expenses under the statutory reference discussed by administration. The board also moved to retain several legal firms on a monthly retainer; administration noted Dennis Britton will continue as the district's primary legal counsel with other specialty firms available for bond and specialty work. "Dennis Britton is the our main legal counsel, and we actually open on, proposal retainer is the right word," an administrator explained during the discussion.
