Chief Aaron McAllister told council Confire has reinstated a public education division that can arrange engine demos and demonstrations for schools and community groups; he asked residents and organizations to contact the district business office or use the email contact on the district website to schedule events. "Contact us at the business office or the info account on our website," McAllister said, adding the district can bring an engine for demonstrations when time allows.
Council asked about volunteer and reserve programs; McAllister described a long‑running reserve program based in Briones Valley and said the district hires from that pool, and it also runs a seasonal hand crew (Measure X funded) that does fuel‑reduction work in Pleasant Hill. In response to council concerns about consumer lithium‑battery fires, McAllister advised using manufacturer‑branded chargers and to charge devices during daytime hours when occupants are present.
