Stark County Junior High track teams set school records, head to state finals

President Ann Orwig presented Pride & Excellence recognitions for Stark County Junior High track state qualifiers during the May 19 meeting.
Orwig congratulated the qualifiers and singled out multiple performances: Gia Swearingen qualified in the 8th-grade girls 100m, 200m and long jump and recorded a new school record in the 200m of 27.49; the 7th-grade boys 4x100 relay (Edward Bickett, Levi Sparks, Seth Duttlinger and Brandon Swearingen, with alternates Ayden Coons and Joseph Snyder) set a school record time of 53.05 and finished ninth. Coach Seth King and assistant coaches John England and Zach Snyder were acknowledged for their roles.
The board noted multiple individual placings at state competition and applauded the track program's success.
